From sexy chiffon blouses to cozy sherpa hoodies, Kenny the Label is the newest curated label in the online boutique market. Samantha Huynh and Jennifer Liu, the duo behind the brand, have created this line of modern basics out of a passionate love for fashion and feeling good in the garments we choose to wear.


Each piece is meant to promote a “feeling of confidence and comfort” following the brand’s mantra of a “Second Skin to Be In.” Moreover, each garment has its own original purpose, but can also be worn year round. For example, the Holiday collection features delicate fabrics and details such as mesh and glitter, but can easily be coupled or paired under the cozy fabrics in the Winter collection such as the ‘twisted knot sweater.’


Taking basic pieces, such as chunky knitted sweaters, Kenny the Label adds its own unique twist. The brand plays on the classic turtleneck sweater by metal ring details along the sleeves helping to do the work of accessorizing for you. The ‘cross-front sweater’ is also designed with a flattering, relaxed silhouette but can also be worn off the shoulder for a night out.


The evolution in each collection is also evident. From holiday glam to winter snuggle feels, Kenny covers it all. Their newest pieces in their latest collection accentuate different parts of the body, which encourages the wearer to feel their best. Huynh and Liu state the mission of the brand is to allow their customers “to feel confident in their clothing, both fashionably and financially.”

Take the “Ivory Chiffon Tie Blouse,’ for instance, which reveals just enough skin to keep things interesting, but has an added classy element with its silky finish, and slightly flared sleeve.


Building a foundation from locality and support in university campuses across Canada, Huynh and Liu understand the hardships of purchasing garments that do not compromise price for quality. In their own words, “Being the exact target market of the label [female millennial students], we are at a distinct advantage because we can personally speak to what we want and ensure that reflects in what we sell.”
